COLLECTING BIKES FOR VELAFRICA
Biking is healthy and fun. But in Africa it's much more than a popular leisure machine. It makes it easier for local people to access education, medical facilities and jobs. It helps people to escape poverty. That is why Velafrica collects disused bicycles throughout Switzerland, refurbishes them and ships them to partners in Africa.
Organise a bike collection
You too can support Velafrica. Organise a meeting during the weeks of the bike to work campaign. You can motivate your team to participate. Organising a collection is very simple: 1st stage Four weeks in advance, contact mats.gurtner@velafrica.ch – 031 979 70 50. Explain to him where the collection will take place. The place must be accessible by car. Do you need an authorisation? Do you have enough people to help you? You clarify together the key points. 2nd stage Publicise the collection within your company, entourage and on the social networks. We will be happy to provide you with flyers, texts and images. 3rd stage The big day has arrived and the stand is assembled. Distribute the Velafrica thank-you flyers to those who have donated bikes. Attach the labels to the bikes collected. Don't forget to take photos and share them with the hashtag #velafrica. 4th stage Velafrica then comes to collect the bikes, as you will have arranged in advance.Donations of kilometres
